FD is a very different and special kind of Desktop Dictionary (American-English). It is a reincarnation of the Jorj Shareware Dictionary (Jorj Software Co.), a TSR/DOS program and the original Phonetic Dictionary. Because the program is very intuitive and easy to use, the only instructions provided are the notes included in the program itself. These notes can be viewed from the "About" box which is accessed from the menu displayed when the Title bar Icon is clicked. The menu is also displayed by right-clicking the Title bar itself. A dictionary is always a "work-in-progress" and FD is updated on a fairly regular basis. FD is a great reference tool to have available while creating text documents. This dictionary has been specifically designed as a computer-based reference and is unique in that it is the only phonetic dictionary and also one that permits searches of the definitions in its database, which greatly enhances its usefulness. Register this program and enjoy the experience of a new, one-of-a-kind dictionary!

Many mnemonic systems have been developed to aid in remembering numbers (credit cards, phone numbers, PINs, passwords, etc). The most prominent of these assigns a unique consonant sound to each digit, 0-9. These sounds are then used to form words/phrases that are more easily remembered than the raw numbers they represent. For example the number 70395 translates into “example” which, along with the translation rules, is far easier to remember than the number. The 2Know software automates the translation of numbers to words/phrases using large English, French, and German phonetic dictionaries. The user simply enters the number to be translated and a list of candidate words is produced. The user then selects a word. If additional digits need to be translated, additional candidate words are presented for selection. This process is continued until the numeric string is completely translated.
