FileCheckMD5 License: Freeware
Simple utility to create checksum files based on the MD5 hash routine. Recursively scans a selected folder and creates the checkfile data which can then be loaded in for testing to determine if the files have changed at all. Great for putting in the root folder of a CD-ROM to make sure the disc isn't defective when it is burned or mass produced.

DIR2HTML License: Freeware

DIR2HTML creates an HTML index from a file system directory. This is useful for building file lists, cataloging contents of CD-ROMS, etc. The program can index either a single directory or multiple directories at once recursively. When operating in recursive mode, a separate index is generated for each subdirectory. Can make hyperlinks to files (for browsing, or for downloading files) and includes support for .URL files created by Microsoft Internet Explorer (favorites). A very versatile program.

Build SFV of specified (or current) dir and all its sub-folders. Each directory has its own SFV file. Pattern match Standard DOS wildcard * and ? are allowed for search pattern. ..::[ CHECK PARAM ]::.. -c="(file)" Check CRC of the specified SFV file. ..::[ MISC PARAM ]::.. -o Redirect output text to the 'enfout.txt' file. -h, -? Harddisk Search and Stats License: Freeware
Harddisk Search & Stats is a very powerful Search Engine for your harddisk which is free for commercial and non-commercial use. It enables you to conveniently search large numbers of text/ascii-based files simultaneously (such as: .txt, .html, .ini, .php, .mbx, .pas, .bas, .c, .cpp files). Harddisk Search & Stats is ideal for those who are handling text files, such as programmers, web developers, computer professionals, system managers and other demanding users. An advantage of Harddisk Search & Stats is that - unlike most other search engines - it does perform any time-consuming indexing of your harddisk. It can directly search text-based files in all levels of a folder (recursive), or just one level, or your entire harddisk. Harddisk Search & Stats Search can search inside files, and search for files (using the file name) or combine both methods. When searching inside files, you can specify as many search terms you want, and there is no limit to the number of file types you can add for searching. For each search-term entered, the program will display an additional column in the search results. More features: search files according to file type, search files according to filename, search using wildcards, search files according to file date, search files according to file size, sort and reverse-sort the search-result list according to: file location, file name, file type, file size, file date, occurrence of each search term; import file types from a folder, view/search individual files with the internal or an external viewer, zero-installation, easy uninstallation, Harddisk Search and Stats does not write anything into the registry, and it runs directly from CD-Rom, floppy or USB disk.

When you delete a file from Windows it just mark the file as deleted in file allocation table, but the data of the file is still on your hard disk, Windows does not physically remove deleted files from your hard disk. Emptying your Recycle Bin does NOT protect you at all. Your sensitive files can be recovered, even after you format your hard disk! This powerful program helps you shred important files & folders so that they cannot be restored & prevent attempts to recover sensitive deleted files from your hard drive by data recovery or forensic software. Shredder allows you to purge, wipe & erase data with methods that far exceed US Department of Defence standards for file deletion (DOD 5220.22). Easily automate the cleaning process with batch files, shortcuts and scheduler. Completely remove sensitive data from your hard drive by overwriting it several times with carefully selected patterns. Overwrites all bits in selected files, including cluster slack space, with binary 1's, 0's, and/or random bit patterns. Supports complete folder deletions including subfolders. Shreds disk free space so you can even use shredder to destroy previously deleted files on your hard drive. Drag & Drop files or entire folders Delete even if the file is locked! No trails are left of any compromising or confidential information. Easily choose the number of overwrites according to your security ambitions. The higher the number the less the probability that even finest magnetic tracks could be detected. The Department of Defense (DOD 5220.22-M) recommends seven passes for top security. You can also shred files by right-clicking on them from the MS Windows Explorer or on the recycle bin and selecting the shred item on the popup context menu.
