Minesweeper

 Nonosweeper  License: Freeware

Nonosweeper is a cross between the popular Windows game Minesweeper and the hidden-pictures logic puzzles known as Nonograms or Griddlers. Unlike Minesweeper, all the clues are given at the start and placed outside the grid, giving completely different gameplay - but the other rules are the same, so don't click on a mine or it's Game Over! You can upload your record times to an on-line database to see how you rank. An exciting new challenge for Minesweeper fans and Nonogram fans alike.

 Novel Mines  License: Freeware

This free game is a minesweeper game with 5 different modes. The object of this game is to open all the blocks without opening a mine. When you open a block without a mine, a number will be shown indicating the number of mines adjacent to it. You can then use this information to find out blocks without mines and then open them. The major enhancement of this game over the classic minesweeper is that it has 5 different modes: tri mode, quad mode, hex mode, oct mode and dodec mode. The original minesweeper has only one mode - the oct mode. Different modes are different in terms of the number of blocks each block is adjacent to, making different modes different in difficulty. You need to register in order to play intermediate, expert and custom levels. Registration is FREE.

 Mallet Mania  License: Freeware

Mallet Mania is a game of logic and skill. The interface has been designed to resemble the popular Windows game Minesweeper, but the game itself is a brand-new concept. The aim of the game is to flatten every grey square on the grid as fast as possible - the numbers tell you how many times each square needs to be hit before it's flattened. The problem is that the mallet you use to hit them with isn't a very precise instrument, and it will hit 4 squares (in a 2x2 block) at the same time. What's more, hitting areas that are already flat would cause a dent and is not allowed, so completing the grid isn't as easy as it looks... This game needs a quick eye and a fair amount of thought to win, but when you've got the knack, you can upload your best times to see how you rank against other players around the world!
