 HTTPS tunnel client  License: Freeware

HTTPS tunnel - better and easier than VPN.
The Barracuda HTTP tunnel provides an easy and convenient method for remote use of Internet/Intranet software. Your standard Internet software is configured to use the HTTP tunnel proxy for access to your company's LAN. In addition, the tunnel allows collaboration from access points not accessible to VPN solutions such as from behind external company firewalls.
The Barracuda HTTPS tunnel acts as a SOCKS, HTTP, and HTTPS proxy server. The HTTPS tunnel allows you to use your Internet applications such as your browser anonymously, despite firewalls. The Barracuda HTTPS tunnel also supports a direct tunnel for protocols that do not support proxying; such as TELNET, FTP, VNC, and most Internet protocols.
Why even consider using IPSec and VPN when a HTTPS Tunnel can do 99% of what you can do with IPSec. Unlike VPN/IPSec, The HTTPS tunnel is very easy to configure and use.

HTTPS tunnel features:
 High-grade 256-bit AES SSL encryption
 Supports SSL and SOCKS proxies
 Install on demand client tunnel
 Built in firewall
 Digest/Basic authentication
 Host/port authorization
DHTML firewall rule editor designed using Ajax technology

iPIG WiFi Hotspot VPN Security  License: Freeware

Using powerful 256-bit AES encryption technology, the iOpus Private Internet Gateway (iPIG) creates a secure VPN "tunnel" that protects your inbound and outbound communications (Email, Web, IM, VOIP, calls, FTP, etc.) at any Wi-Fi hotspot or wired network. iPIG shields your data from even the most sophisticated methods of online spying and snooping like the "Evil twin attacks". In addition, your sensitive information is not only protected between your computer and the wireless access point you're using, but all the way to iOpus' secure connection servers deep in the Internet. This ensures that your data can't be easily hijacked through the air and at the point it transitions to a "wired" Ethernet connection. Unlike other technologies, iPig works with any kind of Internet connection (Wifi, WLAN, wired ethernet) and requires NO configuration of any kind. You just start your favorite web browser, email client or chat software and switch the iPig encryption on: iPig grabs all Internet traffic before it leaves your PC and encrypts it securely! iPig also works with all major firewall software like Zonealarm or Norton Internet Security. The software runs on Windows 2000, XP and 2003 (Sorry, Windows 98, ME are not supported).

SSL-Explorer is the world's first open-source, browser-based SSL VPN solution. This unique remote access solution provides users and businesses alike with a means of securely accessing network resources from outside the network perimeter using only a standard web browser. Users can now be granted access to their files, intranet applications and email from virtually any location with an internet connection. Using SSL-Explorer you can quickly and simply provide full extranet access to key strategic business partners and external consultants. Similarly, your network support staff are also now free to remotely manage servers, routers and other network hardware securely using industry standard encryption technologies to protect key information assets. No client side software needs to be installed on your users systems and maintenance is centralised and simple. SSL-Explorer relies on the ubiquitous Java web technology and hence requires just a standard web browser to take advantage of full remote access.  TunnelRat  License: Freeware

If you use Microsoft's built-in VPN with the PPTP protocol you probably experience occasional problems where the VPN stops working. You need TunnelRat. TunnelRat installs and runs in the tray area of your Windows XP system. It sends a packet through your VPN tunnel periodically. If the packet does not transmit sucessfully, This program goes a step beyond the built-in reconnect capability that is included with Windows XP. The built in functionality only reconnects the VPN if it drops the connection. TunnelRat will reconnect it if traffic cannot be transmitted, even if the VPN did not drop. Tunnelrat is very easy to install and it automatically configures itself. In addition to monitoring your VPN, TunnelRat can automatically start your VPN for you when you login to Windows XP. Abolutely Free, no expiration, no upgrade, no ads. This program was developed to solve a specific problem and then shared. We also recommend Rhinoback Online Backup to protect your data from accidental loss or disaster. Your data is automatically backed up and moved offsite. See www.rhinoback.com.

 Wippien  License: Freeware

Wippien is Instant Messenger with VPN support, that combines different protocols - ICQ, MSN, AIM, Yahoo, Google Talk. It gives you ability to have several computers arround the world connected to isolated local LAN without any special setup. NAT traversal techniques are used to penetrate NAT devices and make direct connections between peers, and allows you to access your friend's resources (such as sytem shares, printers..). It uses XMPP/Jabber protocol to locate your friends and see their presence status, and after that it initiates direct peer-to-peer secured connections with them. None of peers need to know real IP address of other peer - Wippien assigns temporary one for the session lifetime. If if your friends don't use Wippien, you can still use Wippien as ordinary instant messenger - really good one!

 SimonTools CyberGhost VPN  License: Freeware

Everyone is curious by nature. Everyone likes talking about others and exchanging the newest gossip. But no one likes being spied on. That's why we close the doors when we want to be left alone or choose to telephone with friends when no one is listening. Increasingly, however, the Internet gives us fewer such places for privacy. Website hosts want to know about your interests; the industry wants to know about your online activities; state agencies and intelligence services want to know as much as possible about the citizens of their country. To protect yourself and your privacy, you must take action. Why surf anonymously? Would you like to have your bank deny you a loan based on your Internet activities? It is your right to decide for yourself who gets what information about you. Internet surfing leaves a plethora of tracks-not just the ones on your computer. Every Internet provider knows exactly which websites you visit and when you visited them, while every website identifies your address and what you've looked at on its pages. You don't want your neighbor to know which magazines you read or where you shop-do you? Remember: Your Internet IP address can be used to locate your real address. Every time you visit a Web server, you leave behind an IP address. CyberghostVPN can help! Our CyberGhost client software connects you with an online server via a so-called tunnel that transmits all data in encrypted form, currently giving you 100% protection from eavesdroppers. The Internet pages you visit only see the address of our VPN server, not your private IP address. In this way, you are ensured total anonymity. The connection occurs in two steps. First a connection is created using 1024-bit SSL encryption. Then a unique 128-bit AES key is produced through which your data transmission takes place. Log in, click "connect," and begin to surf anonymously!
