This program includes a few interesting and useful technologies i.e. - A Simple System Tray IMAP Mail Client (not available so far) - System Tray Implementation in Visual C#.Net This includes source code, so you could use it as it is or play around with the code to satisfy your requirements. This requires .Net Framework to be installed first (I use v1.1). There is no installation required. Just copy the executable from binRelease folder in the zip and run it. You should find the "My" icon in the System Tray. Double click to open main window. Chose IMAP Client from menu and enter user, password, IMAP Server and click Connect to check mail. Double click on SysTray icon to hide window. I made this software to serve as a personal utility for those features which are not available in the market. First one is the System Tray IMAP Client - It is very useful because I don't have to keep the Mail program open in the taskbar, there being no way to tell if there is new mail otherwise.

PopMonger is a free but elegant tool to help you with mailing list management. This very small program is easy to set up with any POP3, IMAP, or Microsoft Exchange Server mailbox, and runs in the background. It can check multiple mailboxes and parses through messages, looking for delivery failures, subscribe requests, and unsubscribe requests. When PopMonger finds a matching message, it can add the sender's address to a list along with a date and a label indicating why the email was added for auditing purposes. You can optionally mark a message for deletion after processing, and leave unmatched email in your mailbox to check personally. As part of the free Mach5 Mailer suite, it can reply to the message with text from a file or redirect the message to another mailbox. SpreadMsg Lite is the FREE version of Compuquest, Inc's award-winning SpreadMsg software. The Lite version features an email scanning agent that searches the user's email waiting at their ISP or Exchange Server. EMail scanning and retrieval is supported for POP3 and IMAP email servers. For new messages waiting, it applies user-specified rules, like looking for specific text content, or for email "from" a specific person, or email containing specific words in the "subject", etc. If the user rules are met, wireless or instant messages are delivered or other action is taken, such as: parse and forward all or part of the original email; send a specific file somewhere; launch an external application, batchfile, or script; and more. And, "2-way query and response" features enable the remote user to ask SpreadMsg for specific information, which is then returned to the user using Instant Messaging, delivered to a wireless device, an email destination, or via dialout. SMTPClient from Bossware lets developers add outgoing email capabilities to their Windows Forms and ASP.NET (Web Forms) email apps using the SMTP protocol. The component does not use the .NET System.Web.Mail namespace, which is simply a .NET Framework wrapper for CDONTS and CDOSYS, two Microsoft COM objects. One problem of using System.Web.Mail is that code using this namespace can behave differently depending on the OS of the computer it’s running on. CDONTS is also said to be resource-intensive and more complex to configure, and to have limitations, and even be unstable.
