Data is stored in the encrypted form, but when it is requested by any application, it gets decrypted on-the-fly. Conversely, unencrypted data to be stored is encrypted instantaneously and then stored. The CryptoExpert system mounts a volume file to create a "virtual drive" that appears to applications and users like any other physical drive. Any data that the user attempts to write to this drive is intercepted by CryptoExpert, encrypted, and written to the volume file. Attempts to read from this volume are also intercepted, and the relevant data is read by CryptoExpert from the volume file, decrypted, and presented to the application trying to read the data. Either you can use a password or a password_file. After selecting the option, press the Encrypt button to encrypt the file. The encrypted file is stored in the same directory, with .ENCRYPTED appended to the filename. For example, a file TEST.TXT will be renamed TEST.TXT.ENCRYPTED NOTE: The program generates a Hash from the given password or password_file, and then, uses it to encrypt the given file. There are no limits on the password length (32768 digits) , or the password_file. The password_file can be any file present on your computer. As an one way Hash is generated, if you forget the password or lose the password_file it is impossible to recover the original file. So, you must NOT forget the password or delete/lose the password_file, or you will not be able to decrypt the encrypted file. Decrypting: To decrypt a file you must enter/select the same password/password_file used to encrypt te file and then press the Decrypt Button. The decrypted file is stored in the same directory, with .DECRYPTED appended to its name. For example, a file TEST.TXT will be renamed TEST.DECRYPTED.TXT. 	This is an excellent file encryption tool in that it is very easy and quick to use Publish-me.com. 'File Encryptor' is freeware. The encryption method used will result in your files being ultimately impossible to run without first being decrypted. There was an encryption key created by Titlebar Software for the File Encryptor program and this encryption key is changed every three or four weeks. The files are encrypted/decrypted to a folder which is created in your "My Documents" folder. The name of the folder is 'Encryptor'. The Encryptor folder contains two other folders- 'Encrypted Files' and 'Decrypted Files'. The 'Encryptor' folder can be deleted. The 'Encryptor' folder will be created each time the File Encryptor program is started if the folder does not already exist. No Splash Screen. No advertisements. No spam from the producers. 	CryptoExpert Lite is a free encryption software. It uses an on-the-fly encryption system to encrypt and decrypt data. Data is stored in the encrypted form, but when it is requested by any application, it gets decrypted on-the-fly. Conversely, unencrypted data to be stored is encrypted instantaneously and then stored. The CryptoExpert system mounts a volume file to create a "virtual drive" that appears to applications and users like any other physical drive. Any data that the user attempts to write to this drive is intercepted by CryptoExpert, encrypted, and written to the volume file. Attempts to read from this volume are also intercepted, and the relevant data is read by CryptoExpert from the volume file, decrypted, and presented to the application trying to read the data. Dismounting the CryptoExpert "virtual drive" ensures that data cannot be read from or written to it. All data is stored encrypted within the "container". As far as windows is concerned, there is a 'new' disk that has suddenly appeared. When the program exists or the volume is unmounted, the file system stays encrypted and there is absolutely no way anyone can recover/get the data without the pass phrase.
