CryptoTextCE License: Freeware
CryptoTextCE is an ActiveX / COM component written in ATLCE for the PocketPC. It provides simple access to the CryptoAPI in Windows CE from embedded Visual Basic and embedded Visual C++. CryptoTextCE is a companion product to CryptoText for the desktop, and data encrypted on the PocketPC using CryptoTextCE can be decrypted on Windows NT/9x using CryptoText and vice versa. If you are collecting sensitive data on a PocketPC device and transferring it to a destop PC or server using SQL Server CE or some other form of file based synchronisation, you can use CryptoTextCE to encrypt the data before transfer and CryptoText to decrypt it again on the server. As with CryptoText, CryptoTextCE encrypts the input text data and converts the resulting binary data to a series of characters which are suitable for use in a SQL statement, or for storage in a text/.ini file. The additional step performed by CryptoTextCE is the optional conversion from a UNICODE string to an ANSI string before encryption. This addresses the issue that all strings in eVB for the PocketPC are held as two byte UNICODE characters internally. If you are not making used of the extended character sets available with UNICODE the conversion to ANSI reduces the size of the encrypted data, and increases compatability with desktop Windows operating systems.

DocFlex/Doclet License: Freeware
DocFlex/Doclet is a freeware edition of DocFlex/Javadoc. It provides only output generator and interprets the basic templates embedded into the executable Java library as resources. The provided templates allow to generate Java API documentation in HTML, RTF and TXT output formats similar to that produced by the default Javadoc doclet. The RTF output is the most prominent feature of this tool as this is the highest quality RTF looking almost identical to the HTML produced by the default doclet plus all the pagination things above this, such as page numbers and tables of contents. The HTML tags embedded in doc-comments are properly supported in RTF. The HTML output is a multi-framed HTML like the one produced by the default doclet. The TXT output may have little use by itself, however, it may be precious together with the custom templates (see below) for various utilizations of Java code information provided by Doclet API, for instance, for generating XML files by it. Externally, the DocFlex/Doclet behaves like an ordinary Javadoc doclet with a little GUI above it (see screenshots). Besides this, the DocFlex/Doclet is also able to freely execute any external templates, however, only those created with the licensed copy of the DocFlex/Javadoc, full edition. So, by purchasing a commercial license for the full edition, you will be able to create your own templates and distribute them wherever you like, allowing other people to use your templates with the free DocFlex/Doclet without any additional charge. We welcome everyone to use this tool !

Image.InfoCards Viewer License: Freeware
Use IIC Viewer to access all types of information and meta-data previously embedded in pictures using Image.InfoCards (IIC) technology. Image.InfoCards is 100% transparent to applications. Image data is not touched (100% Quality). You can embed memos, data cards, copyright information and even your business card! Organize your collection, build databases, promote your work. Just imagine the endless possibilities. Your images will have their own memory! Image.InfoCards (IIC for short), the name of this technology, will let users package together two valuable items: images and their related info. By taking advantage of file format features, the image's visual information and functionality remain unaffected. The information is organized in user-friendly packets called "Cards", which can then be embedded on the popular JPEG, GIF and PNG image formats. These "Cards" can be accessed by any "IIC-aware" application on any hardware platform, for the purposes of documentation, database management, contact promotion and much more. IIC-powered images are software and hardware independent, can be shared on the Internet, travel by email, distributed by web servers, floppy disks, CD's, DVD's or any digital medium that preserves their file format. This makes Image.InfoCards a strong candidate to a world standard in image-related data exchange. Image.InfoCards are useful on almost every task involving digital images: From digital camera users that want to describe their precious images, to the industrial environment where automatically taken pictures must be documented with realtime-sensitive data, a lot of new things that seemed impossible up to now can be done with this innovative technology.

Janino License: Freeware
Janino is a compiler that reads a Java expression, block, or source file, and generates Java bytecode that is loaded and executed directly. It is not intended to be a development tool, but an embedded compiler for run-time compilation purposes, such as expression evaluators or "server pages" engines like JSP. Properties The major design goal was to keep the compiler small and simple, while partially sacrificing completeness. I don't like the idea of carrying around huge libraries for simple applications. See Parser for the list of implemented and missing language features. When do you need an efficient expression evaluator? Say you build an e-commerce system, which computes the shipping cost for the items that the user put into his/her shopping cart. Because you don't know the merchant's shipping cost model at implementation time, you could implement a set of shipping cost models that come to mind (flat charge, by weight, by number of items, ...) and select one of those at run-time. In practice, you will most certainly find that the shipping cost models you implemented will rarely match what the merchant wants, so you must add custom models, which are merchant-specific. If the merchant's model changes later, you must change your code, re-compile and re-distribute your software. Because this is so unflexible, the shipping cost expression should be specified at run-time, not at compile-time. This implies that the expression must be scanned, parsed and evaluated at run-time, which is why you need an expression evaluator. A simple expression evaluator would parse an expression and create a "syntax tree". The expression "a + b * c", for example, would compile into a "Sum" object who's first operand is parameter "a" and who's second operand is a "Product" object who's operands are parameters "b" and "c". Such a syntax tree can evaluated relatively quickly. However, the run-time performance is about a factor of 100 worse than that of native Java code.
