	Minefield is a game in which you have to bring as many men as you can across the minefield to safety (marked by a blue flag). You start at the bottom right square of a grid of up to 20 x 15 squares and use the arrow keys on the keyboard to move your man towards the flag. You die if he steps on a mine (duh!). The minefield is randomly generated when you start a game, but the mines stay where they are throughout the game so you have to try to remember where they are. In addition to the mines, you also have to avoid up to 2 snakes and 2 ghosts. Snakes can only move on squares which do not contain mines, whereas ghosts can move anywhere in the grid. You may, on occasion, pick up a map or invincibility potion. The map shows you the location of every mine in the grid, whereas the potion makes you invincible (ie. cannot be killed by mine, snake nor ghost), for a period of time. You may sometimes also be blown to another square by a strong gust of wind (this can only happen if you step on a square that does not contain a mine). Minefield has plenty of customizable settings. 	The objective of the game is it to keep a ball in the game (with the help of your game board) until all breakable game blocks are destroyed. The ball can be launched from the center of the board to the northeast or northwest direction by pressing the space bar or control key. With the arrow keys, the game board can be moved left and right. Some game blocks must be hit several times with the ball. When all blocks are destroyed you pass on to the next level. If the ball gets into an endless loop, the problem can be solved by one or repeated pressing of the key X. In some game blocks, some special objects are hidden. If they hit the board, special actions will be executed (the ball becomes slower, the board becomes larger, rockets are fired, ...). But not all objects are advantageous. With the introduction of a new object the previous action expires. The game begins with two spare lives. After a ball loss or with the beginning of a new level the original ball, the original game board and the original number of lives will be restored. So that you constantly do not have to begin again at the first level, after you have lost the game balls, you receive a password after the fourth, eighth, twelfth and sixteenth level. Should any problem occur with your document, you can open the program's main window and copy all the text from within the main text log box. Copy the typed data from this window inside your document, do a bit of reformatting as needed and your work is saved! If your computer crashes, no problem - your data is still available because it is logged on disk. Go into the folder where you installed the program (usually something like c:Program FilesSaveMyWork) and look in the Logs subfolder. 	Sint Nicolaas has been robbed! The thieves have taken his big sack full of presents and gingerbread cookies. In their run, however, the they aren't careful and presents start dropping out of the sack. Now Sint must collect the fallen gingerbread and presents and bring them to the right chimneys before dawn. Presents are in four colors: red, blue, green and purple. All chimneys have a mark indicating the correct color. There is also a number written on every chimney, that is the number of gingerbread cookies that still have to be dropped. Sint can carry as many presents behind him as he can find. However, he can only drop the first one into the chimney. So he must visit the chimneys in the same order as the colors of the presents he gathers. All the presents must be brought to the right homes in this same night. Sint must be ready before dawn. The time Sint has left to complete the level is displayed on the statusline at the bottom of the screen. When only one minute is left, the sky will start getting lighter. If two minutes or more are left at the end of a level, Sint has time to play a bonus level! Sint's quest over the roofs is dangerous: the old Sint will not survive a fall from such a roof. Sometimes it can be very slippy. Sint also has to be careful not to touch the sharp edges of TV antennes. There are even dangerous birds that attack him and even try to steal presents or gingerbread. Sint can make these birds fall down by jumping on top of them, but that wouldn't be very kind towards the birds. So every time Sint jumps on a bird, he loses 500 points. If he manages to complete a level without injuring any bird at all, he receives 10,000 extra points. At the right-bottom of the screen, a number of hearts are displayed. This indicates how often Sint can hurt himself before losing a life. He can earn extra lives by eating four chocolate letters S, I, N and T or by collecting 100 gingerbread cookies in a bonus level. 	BankStep is a software emulation of hardware bank sequencers found in the big analog synthesizers, that produce control for the sound but not the sound itself. Instead of analog control voltages BankStep produces MIDI (and can make standard MIDI music files). Otherwise, BankStep functionally emulates a big $50,000 bank of hardware sequencers and supporting modules just as it might sit on top of a big Moog analog synthesizer - or your soft synth, MIDI module or sound card. The main module in BankStep is the Bank module, which is a 3 or 4 bank knob sequencer of any number of columns up to 48. The Bank module is a "smart" module, with the ability to set sequence start and end points, and to automatically switch direction when the end points are reversed. There are no dangling patchchords in BankStep. Instead, module inputs (the red and blue buttons) connect to outputs by selecting them from a popup menu of all available outputs. When an input is connected to an output, the input button label indicates the connection. Like the hardware sequencers it emulates, BankStep is modular in concept but it is not modular in the sense that you create modules as part of the composing process, as you would with our other MIDI composing software, SoftStep and ArtWonk. While you are free to create your own module Layouts, this should not be part of your composing process, just as specifying the modules of a hardware modular synthesizer is separate from the use of the modules in creating the music. This is less flexible than SoftStep or ArtWonk, but it is often easier to get started with; and because you likely will use the same layout over and over, you become familiar with it. With BankStep, you are not creating an algorithmic music composition so much as you are creating music with a stack of sequencers, just as you would if you had a stack of hardware sequencers.
